Discussion and action regarding requests in regards to water rates

SUMMARY: A citizen has requested City Council to have a water rate study on the cost to produce water for inside City customers versus outside City customers. Council discussed this at the previous week’s work session.
Mr. Clark is requesting two things; an independent audit of the cost to produce and deliver water inside and outside City limits, along with a written answer on the following three items:
1. The legal and factual basis in the difference in rates;
2. Confirmation that no non-water costs are within the rate;
3. A yes or no on the audit with an established timeline.
Further discussion and action will occur based on the presented request.
