Approval of grant application for InvestPrep Funding

SUMMARY: City staff and the Chamber President took part in a TVA InvestPrep 2020 application workshop on January 28, 2020. During that workshop we were informed the deadline for application was February 28, 2020. Therefore, staff needs permission to work with the Chamber to submit a grant application to cover 50% of the cost of a Phase One Environmental Study, a Geotech Study, and clearing of the approximately 20 acre site contiguous to the shooting park. This work needs to be accomplished so the development cost and issues can be determined in order to market for potential industrial development. Grant award will not occur until the FY 2020/2021 Budget. No budget amendment is required.
