SUMMARY: On-staff Urban Forester Seth Harrison is proposing an ordinance for requirements of landscaping and tree amount on new and resurfaced parking lots.
A copy of the proposed ordinance is attached.
The Planning Commission reviewed the proposed ordinance at its August 17 meeting and voted to recommend denial of the proposed ordinance revision. The majority of the Planning Commission agreed that using the ordinance as a guideline was a better alternative and that education and outreach should be the action taken rather than an ordinance.
