Approval of Oakmont Drive Water Line Relocation

SUMMARY: The County Road Department is replacing the culvert on Oakmont Drive and One Mile Creek with a bridge. The City has a six inch line that is in the right of way and crosses over the culvert. The water line must be relocated out of the bridge construction area. The County Road Department is acquiring enough right of way for the water line relocation.
City crews can relocate the water line by utilizing $5,500 of rental equipment and $3,500 of materials. The Director of Engineering and Utility Maintenance Supervisor recommend that the City Council approve this project.
BUDGET ACCOUNT: The money for this project to come from the water transmission & distribution fund from line maintenance.

NECESSARY COUNCIL ACTION: Approve the waterline relocation project as an in-house project.
