It is the recommendation of staff that Jani-King Cleaning Services be dropped and Simply Clean be hired to clean the above departments for the fiscal year 2014-15. After many problems with Jani-King and the lack of cleaning the offices on their part, quotes were taken from three companies to finish out the remainder of this contract.
Simply Clean was low bid of $425.00 per week. This company has cleaned for the City in the past and are excellent. They go above and beyond what is expected from them and no one has to wonder if they will show up to clean.
BUDGET ACCOUNT: No budget amendment is needed.
Recommended Action
Terminate the contract for fiscal year 14-15 with Jani-King and award the 2nd year of the contract to Simply Clean.
