Update on Parks & Recreation grants and planning

SUMMARY:
As approved by City Council, a recreation task force has been meeting to determine potential projects for a recreation grant application in the Spring. A public meeting was held regarding potential projects.
Requests for Qualifications were requested from architect/engineering firms to assist in the preparation of a recreation grant and a potential master plan of recreation facilities. RFQ's were received from 7 firms. The task force individually reviewed the submittals and ranked each firm. The top 3 firms (Hart Freeland Roberts, Lose & Associates, and McGill Associates) were interviewed by the Task Force. Following the interviews, the task force reconvened and voted 8-3 to recommend Lose & Associates to the City Council. The City Manager will be meeting with Lose & Associates to further discuss the scope of the work and a contract to be presented to Council at a future meeting.
