Matters relative to selection of new City Manager

SUMMARY:
The deadline for resumes for the City Manager position is Friday, June 14. A selection process should be determined in order to proceed. In 2011, following the deadline, the City Clerk numbered each of the applications and then gave each Councilmember a copy of all of them. Council then reported their top 4 or 5 applicants to the City Clerk, by number. Once those were received, the top 4 were interviewed. In 2011, all of the top 4 received at least 3 votes. The purpose of numbering the applications was to keep the names of the applicants confidential until they were selected for interview. If this process is acceptable, a deadline should be set for returning their top applicants.
