SUMMARY:
The Crossville Fire Department solicited bids for 35 sets of Firefighter Protective Clothing, i.e. Fire Bunker Gear. We will be purchasing the fire coat and fire pants with suspenders and emergency escape belts. We reviewed and performed a wear test of two different brands of gear and feel the best option is to purchase the Janesville V-Force Protective ensemble. We received bids from four vendors and we recommend that the bid be awarded in part to NAFECO Fire Equipment for the fire coat and fire pant only. The NAFECO price was the low bid for the ensemble coming in at $2182.00 and we currently have $76400.00 allocated for this line item. We request your approval.
