SUMMARY: The Street Department supervisor has received a quote from Stowers Caterpillar for a 2018 Caterpillar 420F2 IT Backhoe. Stowers has a contract with the State of Tennessee, Central Procurement Office. State bid price for the backhoe is $105,997.20 plus the option of a hydraulic thumb for $5,235.00. The grand total for the backhoe with the thumb is $111,232.20. The Street Department supervisor has reviewed the quote and recommends purchasing the backhoe and hydraulic thumb for $111,232.20. This purchase was budgeted and approved in the 2018/2019 budget.
