Matters relative to signalization on Highway 127 at Interchange Drive

Body
SUMMARY: The Mayor will lead a discussion on signalizing the Highway 127 North and Interchange Drive intersection.
A request was made to TDOT to perform a Signal Warrant Study on the Highway 127 North and Interchange Drive intersection. TDOT said that they might be able to complete the study in 8 months but we should expect the study to be completed in approximately 14 months. They said that they are under staffed and the study would not rank high on their priority list.
A request was then made to Mike Flatt with Gresham Smith and Partners, for a proposal for the study. The proposal is attached and indicates that Gresham Smith and Partners will perform the study for a lump sum price of $5,000 with the City providing the turning movement count data.
The turning movement traffic count data has been recorded by city staff and if the City Council approves the attached proposal with Gresham Smith and Partners, the study could be completed in thirty days.
