Approval of contract amendment with CT Consultants for the redesign of the Downtown Improvements Street Lighting

SUMMARY: Attached is an amendment to CT Consultants for the redesign of the street lights for the Downtown Improvement Project with hourly services not exceed $25,500. It was anticipated that the previously TDOT approved lighting plans would be utilized for the installation of the new street lighting. However, due to recent TDOT review comments, the lighting design will need to be revised to address current TDOT requirements and design comments. The City also had other options with VEC that could have provided some of the design work through TVA and those options are not available at this time. We currently plan to purchase the poles and fixture through VEC.
The lighting portion of this project does not qualify for the TDOT TAP grant funds. The Director of Engineering recommends the approval of the amendment.
