Ordinance adding ยง6-104 pertaining to sexual offender registration fees

SUMMARY:
State law provides that each sexual offender must pay an annual fee of $150 to cover administrative costs for the City and TBI in implementing the requirements of the Tennessee Sexual Offender and Violent Sexual Offender Registration, Verification and Tracking Act of 2004. In addition, legislation was passed in 2014 permit cities by a two-thirds vote of the Council, to establish a community notification system with an annual fee of $50. An ordinance covering this system is required for implementation. The primary notice will be on the City's website, where information on all those registered will be kept up-to-date.
