Approval of sign variance for CoLinx

SUMMARY: CoLinx has requested permission to install a 4 by 8 sign at the intersection of Cox Avenue and Genesis Road. The Sign would direct all of their truck traffic to use Cox Avenue as the “Truck Entrance”.
Staff believes that this sign would be considered an off premise sign and that a variance is needed. Staff also recommends the approval of the sign because it could eliminate a considerable number of truck turnarounds on Genesis Road which could jeopardize the safety of the general public and impede traffic.
