Discussion and action regarding a resolution for cost overrun

SUMMARY: On February 24, 2026, bids were received for the CDBG Greenway project. All five (5) bids received far exceed the amount of funds budgeted for construction. A recommendation for award to Hamilton Consulting & Construction, LLC (dba J. Paul Smith Construction) of Crossville, Tennessee was made by Wold Architects & Engineers. Their bid was in the amount of $959,999.00. The bid award amount exceeds the available project total budget by approximately $305,872.00. If the City Council wishes to approve additional funds for this project, a resolution must be adopted pledging for matching funds needed to complete the project.
