SUMMARY: Jan’s Wine & Liquor is proposing a new building located at the corner of West Avenue and Central Avenue. It is located next door to the Farm Bureau office. The setback from West Avenue is 50 feet. They are requesting a variable setback variance of 40 feet to 20 feet, as shown on the site plan. This setback is similar to one granted to the new Farm Bureau office next door. The closer section is located away from the intersection.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the variance based on like setbacks in the area that provide similar distance allowed and granted by the Planning commission and no perceived threat to general public safety.
