Approval of equipment rental for I/I project

SUMMARY:
In order to keep the I/I project moving forward and meet the necessary timelines, the City has rented equipment to clear easements for inspection of the sewer lines. It had planned to be done by the contractor, but the funding agency would not cover those costs. So, the City Manager authorized the immediate rental of the equipment and City forces to do the clearing and stay ahead of the contractor doing the inspection work. This work is required to identify lines that need to be replaced or improved to eliminate I/I issues. The total estimated cost for the equipment rental is expected to be $6,500.
