Title
Discussion and action on water system improvements funding

Body
SUMMARY:
Funding needs to be put together for the following projects:
·      $910,000 - Catoosa 127N - new water tank
·      $281,000 - Brookhaven waterline upgrade
·      $296,000 - Holiday Drive waterline replacement
·      $178,000 - Highland Lane waterline replacement
·      $491,500 - Lantana Estates & Fairyland Acres waterline replacement
·      $617,500 - Old Lantana Road waterline replacement
 $2,774,000
 $2,493,000 (excluding Brookhaven)

The City Manager and the Finance Director will have some financial information available to compare funding through Rural Development, TML Bond Fund, and the State Revolving Loan Fund.

As discussed in work session the City has $341,010 remaining in SRF funds approved for the raw water line.  These funds have a 30% forgiveness (grant).  It is recommended that these funds be used on the Brookhaven waterline upgrade project as there is an immediate need in that area to provide fire hydrants for fire protection.  Because ECE was the engineer of record with SRF on the original project, it is recommended that they be retained for this additional work for Brookhaven.

Recommended Action
NECESSARY COUNCIL ACTION:  Authorize a request to be made to the SRF to allow the remaining funds to be approved to include the Brookhaven waterline project and the City Manager to negotiate a contract with ECE Services for Council approval.
