SUMMARY:
The Water Department is requiring the upgrade of the MC3 RF unit (truck unit) and the purchase of two new handheld units (field units) for meter reading. The proposal from United Systems is attached. Funds are already budgeted for this purchase.
Utility Maintenance Supervisor, Billy Martin, recommends the approval of the purchase of two FC300 handhelds, w/accessories, and an upgrade to the MC3 RF unit for a total cost of $12,468.00. The City of Crossville utilizes Itron "Automatic Meter Read" equipment and United Systems is the sole source for Itron/Water equipment.
