Discussion and action to accept quote for Sweeney Drive Area Waterline Modifications

SUMMARY: City Staff has planned for a waterline project to reroute the water lines and remove maintenance issues left over from the tank removal in the area of the removed water tank on Sweeney Drive. City Staff has also reviewed the plans for the development in the area of Sweeney, Stout, Interstate and Genesis Road and found conflicts with the proposed development and the existing (to be TDOT relocated) water lines. If City crews perform the planned work at the tank property, the lines in conflict can be capped and taken out of service.
If the City goes through the normal bid process the developer will be held up approximately 60 days with their current schedule. City staff has requested quotes from 3 venders and recommends the approval of the purchase from the lowest quote from Consolidated Pipe and Supply Co. Inc. in the amount of $13,140.83. If approved, the development will not be interrupted or delayed.
