Discussion and action regarding infrastructure improvements for Interstate Drive extension

SUMMARY: A request for Council to commit to the construction and installation of 1,350 feet of road, 1,350 feet of water, 1,050 feet of sewer extending Interstate Drive has been made by the developer for Lot 8 at the development near Genesis Road and Interstate Drive.
The Crossville Regional Planning Commission has had a final plat submission for their March meeting. Per the City’s subdivision regulations, it is a requirement for infrastructure to be present prior to the approval of the final plat. Upon approval of this item, Staff will recommend to Planning Commission to approve the plat and variance with a special note stating if the conditions of the City's commitments are not met and a proposed development is made for Lot 8, it would be the responsibility of the current property owner of Lot 8 to provide the required access and utilities.
For this to occur, approval of the installation of infrastructure to be paid for by the STIF (Sales Tax Increment Financing) must be made by City Council.
