Approval of TDOT grant contract amendment for Seal/Stripe Runway and Taxiway

SUMMARY: The City and TDOT Aeronautics entered into a contract with a grant in the amount of $637,042 for sealing and striping the airport runway and taxiway. The local share is $33,528 for a total project of $670,570. The current Engineer’s estimate projects the total project amount to be $60,000 more than the contract amount. The current schedule is tight and completes all contracted work before winter. A request has been made to TDOT to amend the contract with an increase of $60,000 which is an additional $57,000 TDOT grant and an additional $3,000 City share.
If a budget amendment is required, it will be brought to council after the project has been bid and the construction contract is ready to award.
