Approval of Peachtree Drive Waterline Extension variance

SUMMARY: A property owner has requested that the City extend a waterline on Peachtree Drive to his property. The property owner has agreed to pay for the materials as required in the City code. A six inch line exists on Camelia Drive and Magnolia Lane which intersect Peachtree Drive as shown on the attached drawing.
Staff has reviewed the request and has determined that a two inch line is more than adequate for domestic water needs on this section of Peachtree Drive. Fire flow can be obtained on the adjacent streets and will meet the current subdivision regulations. Staff is requesting a variance pursuant to the Crossville City Code 18-108 that the extension be installed as a two inch line instead of a six inch line per the City Code.
