Public Works Utility Maintenance Storage Shed - Variance Request

SUMMARY: The City’s Public Works Utility Maintenance Department is wishing to construct a new storage shed along the northern edge of the City’s property that fronts on Maryetta Drive. The setback from Maryetta is 30 feet. They are asking for a setback variance of 20 feet, reducing the setback from Maryetta to 10 feet. This is within the fenced in area of the Public Works complex and even with a 10-foot setback the building would still be over 30 feet from the existing road.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the setback variance based on distance from the ROW and no apparent impact to the overall public safety in the area.
