SUMMARY: Approval is requested of a contract with Stigall Engineering & Assoc. to design and engineer the relocation of water and sewer lines for the TDOT Hwy. 127N project. Inspection is not included in this contract. The work load on the Engineering Department will be evaluated when the construction date is set to determine if the city does the inspection or it is subbed out.
The project is 4.6 miles long and will require the relocation of the four inch sewer line and the existing water mainlines. TDOT will pay for the majority of this project and the City will be required to pay for the betterments such as the difference in cost of upsizing the water line from six inches to ten inches and casings for future road crossings. The City's portions of the expenses will be set after the rainbow plans have been completed and approved by TDOT. TDOT has set the submission date on the rainbow plans to be January 21, 2014. The current construction estimate is $3,367,500.
