SUMMARY:
It is recommended that the bid submitted by Cargill, Inc. for the purchase of bulk coarse salt be accepted.
Cargill, Inc. is not the lowest bid that was received. The low bid was received from Compass Minerals with the stipulation that we estimate the amount to be purchased for the year. A figure cannot be accurately determined on how much salt will be required for the winter season.
