Discussion and action on County building inspections

SUMMARY:

At the July 9^th meeting, a motion was made and passed to offer to the County that the City continue building inspections for the County, including commercial inspections.  However, that item was not on the agenda for the work session nor was it on the agenda for the meeting.  City Attorney Ridley has opined that proper notice was not given to the Council or to the public as required by the Standing Rules and that the new motion was in conflict with the previous action taken.  The proper procedure is to repeal the prior action and move to adopt the new action.

Repeal actions taken on May 13, 2014, September 9, 2014, and February 10, 2015.

Make new motion to offer to the County that the City continue building inspections for the County, including commercial inspections, under the 2012 building codes.
