SUMMARY:
Bids were received on January 19, 2016 for the water line replacements in Lantana Estates, Fairyland Acres, and on Holiday Drive. The low bid was submitted by Norris Bros. Construction in the amount of $896,855.05. An alternate bid was also requested for the boring under driveways. The bid of Norris Bros. for the alternative was $218,531.90. If Council chooses to pay for the boring, the total cost will be $1,115,386.95, which is still under the second lowest base bid of Adams & Sons. The engineer’s estimate on the project was $1,276,000 for the base bid. The engineers have reviewed the bids and discussed it with Norris Brothers and recommend award.
