Ordinance adding the amphitheatre as a smoke-free workplace

SUMMARY:
The Health Department has money left over from a tobacco settlement. If the City declares the amphitheater as a non-smoking venue, the City can get up to $20,000 for things such as benches and other amenities. Action must be taken quickly or the money will be lost.
The original ordinance has been revised to discourage smoking along the walking trails located at Centennial Park or on the grounds of the Spirit Broadband Amphitheatre. The prohibition of smoking by the City is not allowed due to pre-emption laws enacted by the General Assembly.
