Ordinance amending the FY2016-17 budget for a special City Census

SUMMARY:
At the December Council meeting, Council agreed to amend the budget for a special census. The cost of the special census in 2014 was approximately $30,000.
Following the work session, staff checked with the Upper Cumberland Development District who must certify the results. The State requires notification by January 1 that the City is going to conduct a special census. The census must be completed by March 1 and submitted to UCDD. They did not know of any companies or individuals in the area that provide the services. All the ones in the Upper Cumberland have been using their Fire and Police Departments to do the ground work.
