Discussion and action on health insurance for City Judge and City Attorney

SUMMARY:
Councilmember Wyatt would like to discuss adding the City Judge and City Attorney to the City’s health insurance plan.
The insurance provider has been contacted and provided the following:
In order for health benefits to be extended to an independent contractor, there are certain criteria that have to be met. The first two of said criteria are as follows:
• An independent contractor must be actively at work, working at least 30 hours per week for the group.
• The group must offer coverage to all independent contractors meeting the necessary worked hours and contribute the same amount towards their coverage as the group contributes toward coverage for their regular, W-2 employees.
