Discussion on Solid Waste Collection

SUMMARY: In August 2017, the contract for sanitation will be up for renewal. Kevin Music will be discussing the issues that need to be resolved as part of deciding whether to work towards developing a new contract and accepting bids for collection vs. in-house collection. Regardless of the direction, a decision will need to be made by Council in the next few months to allow time to develop a new request for proposals or to move toward purchasing equipment and hiring employees.
