Approval for application for Blue Cross Blue Shield TN Narcan grant

SUMMARY: Blue Cross Blue Shield is offering grants for training and supplies of Narcan (naloxone) to law enforcement agencies in Tennessee. Narcan has proven itself to be a lifesaver for people who are experiencing drug overdose. Crossville Police Department is requesting 100 units (two for each officer, four for the Tactical Response Medic Kit, and ten for the K9 Division). This is a 100% grant and total cost requested from Blue Cross Blue Shield is $4,900. If the grant is awarded, a sustainability plan for resupply of the kits would be placed into the police department’s annual budget.
