The Department of Justice offers 50% funding for bulletproof vests for the Police Department. The Police Chief has 3 officers whose vests will expire in 2017-18 (5-year lifespan). He also has 2 openings that will be filled and require vests. An application will be filed for $3,050 with a reimbursement amount of $1,525.
Over the years, the City has received $34,000+ in vest funding from the Department of Justice.
