Approval to purchase vacuum machine for Catoosa Utility Department

SUMMARY:  Catoosa Utility Department requests to sell a backhoe on GovDeals to help fund the purchase of a vacuum machine.  The vacuum machine is needed to spot waterlines for location and help with cleaning out around pipes during leak repair.  The amount of the vacuum machine is estimated at $40,000.

 

The department has budgeted a backhoe for FY 18-19 and that quote is $25,000 under the budgeted amount.  With the savings from the new backhoe purchase and the sale of the old backhoe, the department can pay for the needed vacuum machine.  The Catoosa Department requests to purchase the vacuum and declare the old backhoe as surplus property.
