Approval to purchase Body Armor for SWAT team

SUMMARY: Body Armor vests are to be issued to Crossville Police Department SWAT officers. GT Distributors, Inc is a Tennessee State bid contractor for ballistic vests. SWAT Quartermaster Sgt. Jake Brink has obtained a quote from GT Distributors Inc. for these ballistic vests, for SWAT officers whose vests expired in January 2019, in the amount of $2,302.50 each. Ten (10) sets, required to outfit the entire SWAT team, will total $23,025. (With 50% of the cost reimbursed to the City via a Department of Justice Grant) This purchase has been approved by Chief Jessie Brooks. Replacement body armor purchases were budgeted in the 2019-2020 TAC Team annual budget.
